BOSTON – December 18, 2024 – Pison, the trailblazer in AI-powered neural sensors for cognitive health, wellness, and gesture control, is excited to announce that Pison will be presenting “New Techniques for Developing an Elite Mental Game” at the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Convention on January 3, 3 p.m. at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Pison will be exhibiting at the conference at Booth #1634.
This presentation will focus on the critical role of mental performance coaching in baseball. The panelists will explore the challenges and benefits of mental performance training, highlighting the use of cutting-edge technology to enhance player performance. Key topics will include:
- The Importance of Mental Performance: Understanding the psychological factors that influence athletic success.
- The Challenges of Mental Performance Coaching: Overcoming obstacles and implementing effective strategies.
- Lansing Community College’s Success Story: A case study on how mental performance training and Pison technology are contributing to the team’s achievements.
- Pison Technology: A deep dive into Pison’s neural sensing technology and how it can be used to measure and improve cognitive performance.
- Future Directions: Discussing the future of mental performance training in baseball and the potential of emerging technologies.
This session will provide valuable insights for coaches, athletes, and anyone interested in the science of baseball performance.
WHO:
- Steven Cutter, Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director, Lansing Community College
- Marc Deschenes, VP Sports Operations, Pison
- Zach Sorensen, Mental Performance Coach at Cincinnati Reds, and former MLB player
WHERE: The ABCA Convention is being held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland near Washington, D.C.
WHEN: January 2-4, 2025; Speaking session will take place on January 3, 3-3:40 p.m. ET.
Members of the Pison team welcome the opportunity to meet with attendees at the convention in booth #1634 to discuss the panel, as well as Pison’s ongoing work with baseball coaches, teams, players on integrating cognitive performance into game preparation and play.
About Pison Technology
Pison is advancing the frontier of human potential with the world’s first AI-powered, neural sensing platform. Patented, non-invasive electroneurography (ENG) algorithms and the introduction of a new sensor array create life-changing applications in cognitive performance, disease diagnostics and management, and quality of life. Pison was founded in 2016 with funding from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, National Science Foundation and the ALS Association to help patients with neurodegenerative disorders better navigate a world made smaller by their diseases. By harnessing the power of the mind in real-time, users gain access to better health and higher achievement in every domain while reaching peak mental and physical performance on the playing field, at work, and in everyday life. August 28, 2024 – Pison, the trailblazer in AI-powered neural sensors for cognitive health, wellness, and gesture control, is excited to announce that Dr. Megan Blackwell, Principal Investigator at Pison, will be presenting at the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS) on August 28 in Kissimmee, FL.
“I’m honored to share the progress that Pison and its collaborators have made on two projects with significance for the care and well-being of our nation’s military personnel,” said Blackwell. “The first is a partnership with the Advanced Functional Fabrics of America and the Army Medical Department Center of Excellence to move Pison’s sensing capabilities beyond the wrist to help inform lower extremity injury risk and rehabilitation. The second is a collaboration with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and uses the Pison wearable to distinguish between REM and non-REM sleep stages.”
WHAT: Pison, a leader in cognitive performance optimization, will present at the 2024 Military Health System Research Symposium. The MHSRS is the Department of Defense’s premier scientific meeting that focuses specifically on the unique medical needs of the warfighter.
WHO: Dr. Megan Blackwell, Pison’s Principal Investigator, will be presenting and sharing two poster sessions. Blackwell will be presenting on Wednesday, August 28 from 10 AM -12 PM:
- “Innovative Tools and Technologies for Predicting and Assessing Musculoskeletal Injuries of the Warfighter” and
- “Managing Fatigue in the DoD: Methodologies for Sleep and Circadian Measurement Sessions.”
As part of the musculoskeletal injuries research, Pison has developed a specialized leg sleeve to measure key metrics of motor control: muscle activation, muscle synchronization, and fatigue. Data collected from the sleeve is being used to build a custom machine-learning model that will be used to evaluate rehabilitation and predict risk of MSK injuries.
Pison has developed a wrist-worn neural biosensor that can aid separation between REM and non-REM sleep stages. Data collected from the Pison device is being used to build a custom machine-learning model that will be used to aid sleep-management strategies. The expected outcome of this project is the full development of a commercially available, wearable tool to
inform operational readiness in the military and beyond.
WHERE: The Symposium is being held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL.
WHEN: August 26-29, 2024.
Blackwell and members of the Pison team welcome the opportunity to meet with attendees at the Symposium to discuss the presentations, as well as Pison’s ongoing work with the Department of Defense and United States Special Operations Command.
