PHOENIX–Pison, the trailblazer in AI-powered neural sensors for cognitive health, wellness, and gesture control, is pleased to announce that Ross Hoehn, Principal Investigator and Research Scientist will present Pison’s white paper, “Predicting On-Field Baseball Performance with Reaction Time Testing,” Sunday, March 16 at 9:30 a.m. MST at the SABR Analytics Conference, held March 14-16 at the Beus Center for Law and Society on Arizona State University’s Downtown Phoenix Campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

This presentation will delve into initial research findings from work with five D1 baseball programs (Penn State, West Virginia, Auburn, Oklahoma State, and Oral Roberts) in 2024, as well as recent research findings and training regimens conducted with Coach Steven Cutter and his Lansing Community College (LCC) baseball team, demonstrating the correlation between reaction time and on-field performance. The white paper explores how Pison’s neural sensing and mental chronometry measures cognitive performance of reaction and decision times, providing valuable insights for coaches and players to optimize training and game strategies.

Pison’s research will progress alongside the Prep Baseball (PBR) Showcase season, focusing on correlations across different control settings and strategies to enhance on-field performance. Announced on March 4, Pison’s partnership with Prep Baseball enables the measurement, tracking, and training of thousands of elite athletes participating in 2025 PBR showcases and tournaments, while also shaping future research directions. This collaboration aims to integrate the “sixth tool” — mental performance — into the baseball scouting process, providing a new dimension for talent evaluation.

WHAT:

The “Predicting On-Field Baseball Performance with Reaction Time Testing” white paper presentation will cover:

  • The importance of reaction time in baseball performance
