Lansing Community College Baseball Uses Pison for Mental Performance Training

Elite Junior College team uses innovative baseball training strategies that will be featured in new “UNCOMMON” docuseries on YouTube

LANSING, MI and BOSTON, MA – April 28, 2025Pison®, the trailblazer in AI-powered neural sensors for mental health, wellness, and performance is partnering with Lansing Community College (LCC) baseball, an elite JUCO/NJCAA program, as the team takes a revolutionary approach to player development and training, integrating mental performance training into their entire program. The team is using Pison BASEBALL Pro, the world’s first performance training solution that empowers players at all levels to develop an elite mental game.

Leading this charge is Head Coach Steven Cutter, who has made the mental game a priority throughout his career, transforming LCC into a JUCO powerhouse and a perennial challenger for the NJCAA championship. LCC participated in the NJCAA Division II College World Series in 2023, 2022, and 2017; and in 2023, LCC was one of only a handful of teams at any level to reach 50 wins. As a certified mental performance coach, Cutter understands the impact of mental toughness on success and sees Pison’s technology as a game-changer in gaining a competitive edge. Together with Pison, Coach Cutter has done a set of nine physical interventions to determine which pregame interventions are most effective for a given individual and which are more effective for in-game performance.

“For years, baseball has struggled to quantify mental performance—it’s always been based on feel. Pison changes that,” said Coach Steven Cutter, Lansing Community College baseball. “Now, my team gets real-time, objective data that shows exactly how mental strategies impact focus, decision-making, and execution. This allows us to fine-tune training for each player, ensuring they’re locked in and performing at their highest level every day. In a game where the margins are razor-thin, this gives us a real advantage over the competition.”

This innovative approach will be documented in a season-long video series titled “UNCOMMON” – A profile of the Lansing Community College baseball team and their quest for elite mental performance and a national championship. The docuseries will chronicle the team’s journey throughout the season, showcasing the impact of Pison’s technology on their on-field performance and overall success, but also introduce innovative training methods, season highlights (and roadblocks overcome), as well as player profiles in this unique series. Video content will be available on both organizations’ websites and YouTube, as well as highlighted on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter and LinkedIn.

“We are thrilled to partner with Lansing Community College and Coach Cutter,” said Marc Deschenes, VP sports operations at Pison. “This collaboration highlights the growing importance of mental performance training in athletics, and we are excited to see how Pison BASEBALL Pro helps LCC achieve its goals this season.”

At the heart of Pison BASEBALL Pro is Pison’s neural sensor in a one-of-a-kind, AI-powered wearable device that measures and tracks the performance of a player’s mind and body. The wearable acts as a mental chronometer to accurately measure key cognitive metrics, such as reaction time, decision speed, and focus, and helps players improve their mental game – and get better results on the field. BASEBALL Pro provides players and coaches with real-time data on key cognitive performance metrics, and dashboards to analyze and develop strategies for player development.
